English-Speaking Catholic Community
at Sacred Heart Jesuit Church

Corona Virus update: from the 18th March 2020 the English services are cancelled.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

To fight the disease more effectively, our Bishop Conference decided to stop all public masses from this Saturday (21st March).

Cardinal Peter Erdő gave permission to celebrate Sunday mass with prayers, bible reading or with watching online mass at home. He also urges us to pray. You are invited to pray this prayer daily and the Pope's prayer to Mary. There are several prayer chains now to join. Prayer warriors are needed, so feel free to join these chains. (Eg. The Secretary of the Eucharistic Congress will pray Angelus at noon every day followed by these two prayers.)

To prevent the quick spread of the virus, there are also important health rules to keep now. Keeping distance from other people and reducing your physical contacts to the very minimum is strongly suggested, staying at home and working from home is the best solution, even if you feel healthy!

Please pray (and fast as it is Lent) and ask God to guide you with your priorities and how to help others wisely.

Do not forget to look after yourself,  do some physical exercise to reduce stress (youtube is our friend:) if you are housebound) or listen to worship music to lift up your spirit! One good deed a day will also help to cheer you up,  eg. call an old or lonely family member or a friend of yours, or someone with whom you have lost contact with. Or do the shopping for an old neighbour of yours.

God bless, take care of yourselves and others,
